Resprays

During the course of any vehicles life, paint tends to become damaged or faded, whether this is through fault of your own such as a small collision or purely down to the elements.  At Blakehill Body Centre we are able to cater for your needs, whether this is just to tidy up your car or a full custom respray.

We have a Todd Engineering low bake spray booth/oven.  This is a self contained room purely for respraying your vehicle. Fan assisted filtered air maintained at a regulated temperature, ensures a clean top quality paint finish. Temperatures of up to 80 degrees centigrade are used to bake and cure the paint for a tough durable finish.

Tasks performed by our sprayer during a respray:

- Remove rough spots on vehicle panels and sand surfaces by hand or with electric/air sanders.

- Order the appropriate colour paint to match your requirements, whether this is using a vehicles colour code or a paint selection from our colour charts.

- Prime-up any bare metal or repair areas that will need to be painted, then flat this down in order to get a smooth surface.

- The area being worked with would then need to be blown over with a blow gun in order to remove and surface dust, this is then followed by a tac cloth to pick up any bits that have been missed.

- The area can then be wiped over and dependant on the type of paint being applied, the sprayer would either then spray with a base coat or a top coat.

- If a base coat is applied in the previous step, you would then lacquer over the top in order to bring up the shine.

- At this stage the paint is baked to harden it for further work.

- Once the paint has hardened off, the final stage is then to flat back the paint, buff and polish.
